FAQ

Do your products contain or have contact with nuts at any time?

Yes, all of our Mithai contain nuts and are not made in a nut-free facility at this time.
However, we are working on launching nut-free and gluten-free options soon. Subscribe to our mailing list at the bottom of this page to be alerted when new products are available, or check us out on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and Pinterest for latest updates.

Can I modify/cancel my order once placed?

Once an order is placed and payment is made, the order cannot be cancelled. We may be able to accommodate some minor modifications to the order. Please contact us within 24 hours of placing the order to alert us to any changes, and we will do our best to accommodate your request. Please contact nymithai@gmail.com using your order number as reference.

What methods of payment do you accept?

We partner with PayPal for payments. PayPal offers multiple payment choices including major credit cards and debit cards.

I need my Mithai for a special occasion. How far in advance do I need to place my order so that it will be delivered on time?

We ship out Monday through Thursday via USPS, and we recommend planning a buffer of 2 extra days if you have a special occasion in mind. Given that our Mithais ship out from our kitchens in NYC, we recommend placing an order that is accordingly in advance of your specific date or significant event. For high order volume, we definitely recommend placing the order at your earliest, with an indication of your preferred ship date while placing the order. Our Mithai stay fresh for up to a month with refrigeration.

Where does NY Mithai ship?

We currently ship Monday to Thursday within the continental United States. For shipping orders outside of the US, please contact nymithai@gmail.com for recommendations on Mithai varieties that might stay fresh through the journey.

How will my Mithai treats be packaged?

We believe that sight and smell are as much a part of our Mithai offering as taste. Each order is packaged in individual lightweight food-safe boxes or tins (depending on the item ordered). We also use dry-ice for shipping addresses that are further out from our kitchens to preserve the freshness of our Mithai. All treats are shipped out in chiller packs during the summer months to keep the contents cool.

In keeping with our focus on freshness, we prepare our Mithai only after the order is placed and we only ship out Mondays through Thursdays so that your Mithai box is not sitting in a transit warehouse over the weekend.

Do I need to be home to sign for my shipping order?

USPS does not require receiver’s signature for our deliveries which means that your order will be left at the door subject to the UPS delivery policy.

How will my Mithai be shipped?

We use USPS exclusively for all of our shipping orders. We use USPS’ Next Business Day or 2 Business Days options based on the destination address from our kitchens in NYC.

How are shipping rates calculated?

Shipping rates are provided by USPS directly. We do not have any additional mark-up on the amount charged by USPS.

How are shipping charges calculated?
Shipping costs are as charged by USPS - our store is integrated with USPS and we offer the exact same transit price and turnaround as offered by USPS. Our packaging materials themselves are not heavy. The Mithai are packed in extremely lightweight durable boxes which are wrapped in biodegradable bubble wrap for added protection during transit.

What if my order does not arrive on or before the estimated delivery date?

We promise that our Mithai will be made fresh and delicious upon ordering, but are unable to guarantee arrival dates and times since we ship through USPS. If you have a specific delivery date in mind, we recommend placing your order as early on as possible to allow enough time for preparation, packing and shipping. Most of our Mithai have about a month’s shelf-life, so you can enjoy your order well after a regular delivery run.

Where is New York Mithai located? Can I pick up my order?

Our kitchens are located in NYC but as a commercial kitchen, it is not open for direct pick-up or sale. We would instead prefer to reach the Mithai to your home or office, or to where your loved ones or associates are located within the continental US.

How long will my Mithai treats stay fresh?

Please refer to the shelf-life indicator on each product page to enjoy optimum freshness of our Mithai.
